Security Council to Meet on Sudan

The UN Security council scheduled a meeting Friday to discuss Sudan whose president ordered the expulsion of aid organizations after being hit with an international arrest warrant, diplomats said.
  
Costa Rican Ambassador Jorge Urbina, a member of the council, told reporters no draft resolution has been put in circulation.
  
Western countries wanted to discuss the humanitarian situation in the wake of President Omar al-Beshir's expulsion orders Thursday against 13 non-governmental organizations active in Sudan, diplomats said.
  
Libya, which holds the council's presidency this month, convened the closed door consultations for 3:00 pm (2000 GMT) to air its concerns about the impact of the International Criminal Court arrest warrant on the peace process in Sudan, they said.
  
The ICC on Wednesday charged Beshir with crimes against humanity and war crimes for atrocities committed in a six year ethnic conflict in Darfur.
